Re: Finding 'Equilibria' using EMP equilibrium

Dear Steve I'm very grateful for your help. You not only answered my question but also showed a better way to pursue my analysis. Wish you the best Iman Hello, As I understand it, you have 3 follower agents, each of whom solves their own optimization model, and one leader agent, also with an optimiz...

Finding 'Equilibria' using EMP equilibrium

Hello friends Recently I read a paper written by Xuan Liu and Antonio J. Conejo. In this paper, they have 3 minimization problems. to find the equilibria, they converted these 3 optimization problems to their KKT equivalent and then added one auxiliary optimization. altogether, there would be one op...

Re: eneabling "keep" option to keep the process temporary directory

Dear Atharv Thank you very much for your comprehensive guide. Thanks to your help not only about 'Keep option', but I learned how to deal with all of the command-line options. Best regards Iman Please note that keep is a command line option and not an option you invoke from a GAMS script such as opt...

Interpreting the output in section "SolEQU"

Hello everyone, Hope you are doing great. In a model based on EMP model I came across a strange situation in which the variable is within the acceptable range but the corresponding equation has the "INFES" mark in the "SolEQU" section in the output. G1.JPG The equation requires &...

Re: compile-time variable/Parameter

Dear Steve, Thank you very much for the reply. Also, I'd like to thank you for your answer to someone else's post about the error msg in EMP: "key expected ....... but instance not in variable rim". Your reply worked for me as well. I truly appreciate your generous efforts, You're a SAVIO...

Re: Problem with EMP Equilibrium syntax

Hello everyone I have pursued the matter and recently I came across a paper written by Youngdae Kim & Michael C. Ferris, and it's very illuminating actually. If you too are struggling with using EMP package in GAMS, I recommend having a look at it. The paper is accessible at the following addres...

compile-time variable/Parameter

Hello guys Hope you all are fine and healthy. This is probably a novice question and I hope you don't mind. What is the difference between a 'parameter' and a 'compile-time variable' ? I have seen codes starting with compile-time variables, such as: $set P 130 I don't get what facility it may bring ...

Re: Problem with EMP Equilibrium syntax

Dear Steve First of all I'd like to apologize for the delay in replying you. Unfortunately I got infected with Covid-19 and it was sever. Thank you for your response. Yes you're right. Equilibrium and ECS can be transformed to each other. Actually I tried ECS first but I wasn't much successful in it...

Re: Problem with EMP Equilibrium syntax

Again hi I found out that the problem was related to the declaration of the dual variable of the power-balance constraint. since the constraint is an equality, the dual variable should be a free variable. I made thecorrectoin in the code. Now I am faced with another problem. The model still doesn't ...
